Most people wait too long to see a physio. They rest it, stretch it, google it, and hope it goes away. Sometimes it does. Often it doesn't, and by the time they book, a two-week problem has turned into a six-month one.
At Fix It Physio, we've helped over 3,000 patients get back to being pain-free. Here's when we'd tell you to stop waiting.
5 signs it's time to see a physio
1. It's been more than two weeks. Minor niggles usually settle within a week or two. If yours hasn't, it's worth getting checked.
2. It keeps coming back. Pain that flares up every few months isn't "just how you are". It's usually a sign the root cause hasn't been dealt with.
3. You're changing how you move. Limping, avoiding the stairs, sleeping on one side only. Your body is working around a problem, and that can create new ones.
4. It's stopping you doing what you love. Running, the gym, playing with your kids, a full night's sleep. If pain is taking those away, it's time.
5. You've been told to "just rest it". Rest has its place, but for many injuries the right movement is what gets you better. [Link to Post 7.]
What happens at your first appointment?
We start by listening. Then we assess how you move to find out what's actually going on, not just where it hurts. You'll leave with a clear diagnosis, a plan, and things you can start doing straight away.
